Anaphylaxis training

Anaphylaxis training is a training request we get more and more often from schools planning their staff training. Anaphylaxis awareness training is commonly run as an add on to other courses, such as our Basic Life Support (Schools), being a topic of great concern to many with a school based first aid role, or working in the early years sector. To help prepare people for a positive first aid response, our Anaphylaxis Awareness training sessions are increasingly popular as part of other paediatric first aid or staff training events.

Each course is adapted to the individual client/workplace, but our anaphylaxis training commonly covers:

What is anaphylaxis?

Pre-planning- before the emergency

Recognition of anaphylaxis in a child

Emergency procedures for first aiders within the specific setting ie school or nursery

Use of epipens/anapens [if held by the organisation]

Basic first aid to support someone with anaphylaxis

Reporting practices following an emergency

This course can be run as a standalone topic, perfect for staff inset training events, or can be run with other schools based first aid training, or paediatric first aid training. Our anaphylaxis training isn’t just focused on injecting oranges, but looks at the complete management [by first aiders] of a child with anaphylaxis within a school or nursery setting.
