EYFS/OFSTED standards Paediatric First Aid training [12 hour]
Paediatric first aid training is required by many working with children. Thisย 12 hourย course is designed for people who have responsibility for children within their work duties. Updated to reflect both the latest medical practice but also the current guidance from EYFS and OFSTED, this course is essential for childminders and those working in early years settings.

What do you cover?
The delegates receive instruction in:
- Assessing an emergency situation and prioritising what action to take;
- Communication with the emergencyย services;
- Helping a baby/child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally;
- How to perform Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation [baby/child/adult];
- First aid for the unconscious casualty [baby/child/adult];
- First aid for the wounded or bleeding;
- Helping a baby/child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood
loss (hypovolemic shock); - Choking [baby/child/adult];
- Head injuries;
- Dealing with foreign bodies in the eye, ear and nose;
- Helping a baby/child with a bite or sting;
- Problems caused by extremes ofย temperature;
- Medical conditions such as Asthma, Meningitis or febrile convulsions;
- Anaphylactic shock;
- Caring for the unwell child;
- Basic record keeping.
