Basic Life Support

Basic Life Support training is ideal for?

It is aimed at staff wishing to refresh their key life saving skills, but this course is specifically aimed at providing basic life support training for non-medical staff. Many dental practices/doctors surgeries or schools find this training is ideal to meet their Continuous Professional Development [CPD] requirements.

How long is it?

This is typically a half day course, though these times can be adjusted to meet your needs. We have often delivered this course onsite at the client’s premises, sometimes during the day, or for example after the surgery has closed to patients.

What is covered?

The recommended Health and Safety Executive syllabus, such as:

Scene safety and assessment

Treatment of the unconscious casualty including CPR

Treatment of wounds, such as bleeding, breaks and burns

First aid to someone choking

Further topics can be covered on request. The course is highly practical, aimed at making delegates confident that their basic life support training for is relevant, but also empowering.

All delegates get plenty of chance to practice their BLS skills, ask any questions they have and “top up” their confidence in dealing with a medical emergency in the dental practice.

With our Basic Life Support training we also issue certificates of attendance, the cost of these being covered in the course charge- no unexpected extra charges when you book with Lazarus Training.

We can also offer further basic life support training for dental practices related training, for example we run training in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator [AED] something which is now commonly found in the dental practice, doctors, schools and the wider community.

Additional training can often be blended in with the above basic life support training by extending the training session, or can be run as standalone sessions.
