Epipen Training

Many schools and colleges are now searching for Epipen Training and the good news is that Lazarus Training can help! With the increasing number of children being prescribed an epipen as part of the treatment plan for their anaphylaxis, more and more schools are looking for epipen training for their staff.

As a first aid training company we can either add epipen training to an existing first aid course, or we can run it as a standalone event. all our training is aimed to build confidence and prompt safe, effective action in a medical emergency. As with all our training we look carefully at the real life working environment of our potential delegates and produce a course aimed at the “essentials” not tons of facts and figures.

The epipen training module normally covers the following:

What is anaphylaxis?

What causes anaphylaxis?

How do you recognise anaphylaxis?

What action should be taken in an emergency? [This is tailored to reflect each individual schools policies]

Epipen training

Calling for the emergency services

Aftercare of the casualty/ill person

Other topics can be added and as already stated, the epipen module can be added to existing training, such as our Emergency First Aid at Work [Schools] of Basic Life Support training.

How is the Epipen training done?

We use discussions, videos, case studies and practical exercises. We have a bespoke epipen training presentation written exclusively for Lazarus Training.

Delegates will get a chance to rehearse their schools’ emergency plan through practical exercises and roleplay. A short written [multi-choice] assessment paper is used to confirm the necessary underpinning knowledge and to make the training valid and verifiable.

On successful completion of the course delegates are awarded a certificate of attendance.
