Help Your Staff Respond Confidently to a Life-Threatening Allergic Reaction
Anaphylaxis is a medical emergency that can develop rapidly and may be fatal without prompt treatment.
With increasing numbers of pupils diagnosed with severe allergies and growing expectations on schools to be prepared for anaphylactic emergencies, it is essential that staff understand how and when to use an Adrenaline Auto-Injector (AAI).
To support schools, Lazarus Training is offering free access to our online Adrenaline Auto-Injector Awareness Course.
What the Course Covers
The course provides staff with a practical introduction to:
- Understanding anaphylaxis and severe allergic reactions
- Recognising the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis
- Common allergy triggers in school environments
- Emergency actions to take
- How and when to use an Adrenaline Auto-Injector (AAI)
- Storage and availability of AAIs in schools
- Post-administration care and escalation to emergency services
The training is suitable for:
- Teachers
- Teaching Assistants
- Lunchtime Supervisors
- Administrative Staff
- Sports Coaches
- School Leaders
- Any member of staff who may need to respond to an allergic emergency
Free Access for Schools
We are currently offering eligible schools:
Up to 20 free learner places per school.
As part of this offer, your school will also receive access to the Lazarus Training learner management portal, allowing you to:
- Allocate training places to staff
- Monitor learner progress
- View course completion status
- Download learner certificates
- Manage training records in one place
This gives schools a simple way to administer training without the need for spreadsheets or chasing staff individually.
Why This Matters
Schools have a duty of care to pupils and are expected to have appropriate arrangements in place for managing medical conditions, including severe allergies.
Ensuring staff are aware of anaphylaxis and know how to respond can help save lives while providing reassurance to pupils, parents and colleagues.
The ability to demonstrate staff training and maintain accurate records can also support wider safeguarding and governance arrangements.
